L5- Feedback and Vibrato Mixes

The original waveforms of these two "remixes" were a from a track called "Never Feed Love" from Lumbar 5.  I recorded them for a compilation in the basement of Pumphouse.  I mixed it regular, and then I mixed it like these.

This is a collection of manipulated field recordings and artificially made noises that I gathered in the first three years living and traveling in Kansas, in an drum-free digital format.  A physical copy of this release (with handmade CD envelopes) is available by contacting brian@brokenfadercartel.com

Cicada Ambient Drone Track

I made a 12 minute drone track from a field recording I made of some cicadas in my back yard (here is a link to the original files and post on the field recording). I added lots of slow moving flanger and some other strange effects. This is a simple minimal "composition" I didn't chop.  I took the 12 minute original field recording, effected the whole track over and over again, and printed it.

Fast Hands and sqrt(ur mother)- Intro aka BRToMGS

This track is called "Baby Rabbits Tripping on Morning Glory Seeds" and it was done with my friend who shall be called Fast Hands for the present. I recorded the drum track in a nice tracking room, and tweaked it out with effects and added some other layers on top.

Ambient Remix of an Owl People Recording Session

I got some friends who play under the name "Owl People" and I like to record them.  I also like to take the recordings, take some loops out of it, throw some sqrt seasoning on it, and make a remix.  Below is a little ambient remix I did.

The Game Big Money 2 Track Chop

I heard this track on one of hip hop is read blogs mix tapes, and I started chopping it up the next time I sat down to make music. Every sound originates in the two track. I took the instrumental loop at the start and chopped it up through out the song. I chopped the verses and chorus on another channel and then imported it into a two track editor and puts a few effects on it. I then sped the whole track up. LA till the death.

Experimental Music Notes

The following is a typed version of a page of notes I found in a spiral type notebook about some book I was reading on John Cage. I don’t recall the book (it was a Cage book) and I can’t guarantee the accuracy of the below notes factual accuracy.

Some music I have worked on in 2009

This prelude and this main composition are two tracks I wrote for someone who needed two "classical type" pieces for a manga project he was working on. They have some violins and piano licks, and were a fun and challenging project to work on.

Live Set Dec 22, 2009 in Lawrence KS at the Replay

This was a fun 30 minute set I played with my boys the Owl People right before I flew home for the holidays. I had a 4 trigger electronica drum set I made, used my STC-1000 XY controller, and the trusty old seafoam green painted O8. I had a noise loop in the floor with a shit mixer,

Nauseous Youth Future and sqrt(ur mother)- Lost Woodfin Jams

The following two mp3s were done by me and NYF back around 2005 in my apartment in Woodfin, NC, just north of Asheville.  I don't recall the details, but I know we used only two computers and synced them up manually with out MIDI (timing the space-bar son).  They are noisy, not the highest quality, and aren't mixed well, but they are raw.  This falls under a collaboration of the old 165th Motorized Slacker Battalion.
